The Role
Fizzback is recruiting for an experienced UK based software engineer to join the Engineering group building cutting edge customer experience feedback software.
Above all, the successful candidate will be passionate about technology and love writing great code to solve difficult technical problems.
Commercial experience with various technologies and a range of programming languages is essential. Experience with the technologies and tools we use would be great, but most importantly we are looking for talented developers who can acquire new skills quickly.
The work will initially consist of re-engineering our current platform but you will get involved in all parts of the system including working on current deployment projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Participate in the design, development and maintenance of Fizzback’s flagship product.
• Evolve and maintain existing product functionality to improve functionality, usability and flexibility

• Strong Java core development and software engineering skills
• A passion for technology and a love of writing code
• Deep appreciation of what it takes to build software that people love to use
• Advanced knowledge of the Spring family projects, like: Spring core, Spring Batch, Spring Integration, Spring Security and Spring Roo
• Advanced knowledge of programming techniques such as OO and design patterns
• Experience working with relational databases, particularly MySQL
• Experience working with Lucene/Solr/Elasticsearch
• Quick to gain and apply new skills
• Team player who can work well in a dynamic environment
• Organised and methodical
• Able to work and meet targets with minimal supervision
Experience and Qualifications
• Degree level education of equivalent experience
• 5+ years of commercial experience as a software engineer

The Role
Fizzback is recruiting for a highly experienced UK based software engineer to join the Engineering group building cutting edge web based customer experience feedback software.
We are looking for highly motivated, creative software developer, who has experience in developing natural language processing products, using machine learning methods. We have a core technology that draws upon these techniques.
Your main responsibility is to maintain and improve our cutting-edge software components to better understand customers. work with the current team in data mining to use and enhance the consumer product. Commercial experience with the technologies and tools we use is essential.

Desirable Skills
• Application of NLP in Sentiment Analysis/opinion mining/topic classification
• Use of existing open source NLP libraries such as openNlp, mallet, LingPipe
• Comfortable working in a mixed OS development environment – Linux / Windows / Mac OSX
• Knowledge of JSON/XML, JSP
Experience and Qualifications
• Msc or Phd in Computer Science discipline, ideally with a backgroup in Natural Language Processing or Machine Learning
