Leaders in London 2007, Europe’s premier leadership forum, used The Fizzback Group’s instant feedback system to capture the thoughts and comments of delegates who numbered in excess of 1,200.
They were gathered together at this Fizzback sponsored event to learn from the strategies and experience offered by leadership experts such as Kofi Annan, Al Gore, Stephen Covey, Allan Leighton and David Cameron.
Delegates interacted with the system enthusiastically – Using SMS and mobile email to offer feedback on everything from the venue and catering through to the A list line up of speakers.
The powerful Fizzback technology ensured that these comments were captured, analysed and directed to the relevant person for immediate resolution where appropriate.
This meant that delegates could offer feedback in a way that was both quick and convenient for them, rather than having to waste valuable networking time tracking down a member of the event organising team.
Rene Carayol, the event moderator, kept delegates informed of the feedback that was being received and of the real-time changes the organisers were making in response – such as relocating the translation booth and speeding up service at lunch.
Delegates were clearly impressed with the way the organisers were using their feedback to make practical improvements to the event as it progressed, not just “learn lessons for next time”.
The speaker line up provoked extensive dialogue, with delegates rating speakers whilst the impact was still fresh – recommending who should be recalled for next year or making suggestions for alternatives. Marcus Buckingham, for example, was described as “provocative” and Al Gore simply “humbling”.
And the event overall? “The calibre of the speakers and the event is unprecedented”.
Leaders in London 2008 will be held on 2-4 December 2008
